Case reports published on gastroenterology, hepatology topics
Reports on hepatocellular carcinoma at initial cirrhosis diagnosis, asymptomatic celiac disease, and massive splenomegaly were published in the past month.
Annals of Internal Medicine: Clinical Cases recently published two case reports and an image/video case report on gastroenterology and hepatology topics.
One report described a case of hepatocellular carcinoma at initial diagnosis of cirrhosis in a 36-year-old man presenting to the hospital about concerns of alcohol withdrawal, while the other reported the unmasking of asymptomatic celiac disease and microscopic colitis after COVID-19 infection in a 75-year-old man. The image/video case described a 40-year-old female patient with massive splenomegaly, defined as spleen length greater than 20 cm. All were published on Feb. 7.
