A Success Story in the June 1 ACP Hospitalist explained how one hospital used a best-practice advisory alert to increase the use of rifaximin in patients with cirrhosis and hepatic encephalopathy on lactulose. While physicians at other hospitals could easily add a similar alert to their own electronic health records, they should also ensure they collect feedback on it, according to gastroenterologist Elliot Tapper, MD.
