Improving palliative care in cirrhosis

Educating patients and acknowledging their existential distress are just two ways hospitalists can better meet the needs of patients with decompensated cirrhosis.


A recent article covered a talk at the American College of Gastroenterology's Annual Scientific Meeting, held in Philadelphia in October, where an expert outlined priorities to improve palliative care for cirrhosis and address the physical, psychological, and psychosocial needs of patients and their families.
