Case reports cover liver injury, cholecystocolonic fistula

These and other gastroenterology and hepatology topics were touched upon in recent cases.

Gastroenterology and hepatology topics were covered recently in Annals of Internal Medicine: Clinical Cases.

Several case reports published on Sept. 3 described disorders related to the liver, including immune-mediated liver injury from checkpoint inhibitors in a 43-year-old woman with metastatic adrenocortical carcinoma, peliosis hepatis in a 28-year-old woman with multiple liver lesions on ultrasound, perivascular endothelial carcinomas in a 78-year-old woman presenting with epigastric pain, and an image/video case detailing an abscess of the ligamentum teres hepatis in a 78-year-old man. A case describing an unusual presentation of cholecystocolonic fistula and subacute colonic obstruction and a case describing adult IgA vasculitis with gastrointestinal involvement were also published on Sept. 3.

In addition, cases published on Aug. 20 covered alcohol use disorder after bariatric surgery leading to cirrhosis and hepatorenal syndrome and thymoma presenting as a bowel obstruction in an 88-year-old woman.
