Endoscopy a potential option for acute cholecystitis with impacted stone
Two video cases demonstrate use of endoscopy as an alternative procedure in patients with acute cholecystitis and an impacted cystic duct stone.
Video cases published in Annals of Internal Medicine: Clinical Cases on Nov. 7 demonstrate how endoscopic transpapillary gallbladder drainage can be used as an alternative procedure in patients with acute cholecystitis who are not surgical candidates when a stone is impacted in the cystic duct orifice or in the middle of the cystic duct.
